Stephanopoulos stood alongside his co-hosts Deborah Roberts, Rebecca Jarvis, Lara Spencer, and Ginger Zee as he broke the news.
“We have some bittersweet news to share today,” he said. “One of our treasured colleagues, Scott Snyder, is leaving GMA.”
Snyder, a camera operator, has worked on the show for 44 years. He is known for his professionalism, his dedication, and his sense of humor.
“Scott is one of those people who starts every single day with a smile,” Stephanopoulos said. “He’s always there to help out, no matter what the task is. And he’s always got a joke to tell.”
The GMA audience erupted in applause as Snyder was shown on the screen. He waved and smiled, clearly touched by the gesture.
“We’re going to miss you, Scott,” Stephanopoulos said. “But we know you’re going to do great things in whatever you do next.”
Snyder thanked his colleagues for their support and said he was looking forward to the next chapter in his life.
“It’s been an amazing 44 years,” he said. “I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the best people in the business. And I’ve made some lifelong friends.”
Snyder’s departure is a major loss for GMA. He was a valuable member of the team and will be greatly missed.
But he leaves behind a legacy of professionalism, dedication, and humor. He will be remembered as one of the greats.
Goodbye Tributes Pour In
Following the on-air goodbye, tributes to Snyder poured in from his colleagues and friends.
Deborah Roberts, Al Roker’s wife, took to social media to share a photo of herself with Snyder. In her tribute, she gushed over the friendship that she had built with him and admitted he would be missed.
“Scott was a ray of sunshine to work with and a true professional,” she wrote. “I’m so grateful for the memories we shared and I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
In addition to his on-air goodbye, Snyder also shared a message on social media.
“After 44 years at ABC, it’s time for me to retire,” he wrote. “I’ve been so lucky to have worked with so many talented people over the years, and I’m grateful for all the memories. I’m looking forward to spending more time with my family and friends, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.”
Snyder’s retirement is a significant loss for GMA, but he will be remembered for his professionalism, dedication, and sense of humor. He will be missed by his colleagues and viewers alike.
“Scott was a true gentleman and a great friend,” he wrote. “He will be missed by all who knew him.”
