The Great Fire of London (1666)
One of the most catastrophic events that occurred on September 2nd was the Great Fire of London, which started accidentally in the house of the king’s baker on Pudding Lane. The fire spread quickly across the city, fueled by strong winds and dry wooden buildings.

He read aloud a declaration that echoed the American Declaration of Independence and the French Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen, asserting the right of the Vietnamese people to self-determination and freedom from colonial oppression.
However, his declaration was not recognized by France or its allies, who sought to restore their control over Indochina after World War II. This led to a long and bloody war between the Viet Minh and the French forces, which ended with the defeat of France at Dien Bien Phu in 1954.
The war also divided Vietnam into two rival states: North Vietnam (backed by China and the Soviet Union) and South Vietnam (backed by the United States and its allies).
The conflict continued until 1975, when North Vietnam unified the country under communist rule after defeating South Vietnam and its allies in the Vietnam War.
